How to Edit Your Instagram Profile

Whether you’re creating an Instagram account for the first time or simply updating your bio, knowing how to edit your Instagram profile is an important skill to have. • Your Instagram username and password to login

  • A profile photo (if you don’t already have one)

Instructions:

1. Open the Instagram app on your phone and login.

2. Once you've logged in, you'll be viewing your home feed displaying the most recent posts from people you follow. In the bottom right corner is a small circle with your photo in it. Click this image to go to your profile.

3. You should now be viewing your profile, which displays your photo, bio, and your most recent posts. From here, click the "edit profile" button beneath your bio. (NOTE: If your account is not a “Creator” account, your screen may look slightly different, but the steps are still the same.)

4. Once in the "edit profile" screen, you can tap into any of the text fields to edit or add text. If you’re adding in a new profile photo, you can tap the blue “Change profile photo” text to add your new photo (NOTE: You’ll need to have the image stored on your phone in order to add it here.) If you want to add a link to your website, tap “Links”.

5. IMPORTANT: Be sure to tap "Done" after each edit is made, not the "<" arrow. The "<" arrow will take you back without saving changes. The "Done" button will save your changes. You will need to save each text field individually.
